Dear Chameleon users,

In order to perform some maintenance, CHI@TACC will be partially unavailable on Thursday, February 28 2019 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM CST. During this time, access to the web interface at https://chi.tacc.chameleoncloud.org and the CLI interface will be interrupted while network access to existing instances is not expected to be affected.

Network maintenance at UC March 1 9am-1pm CST

We will be performing some network maintenance at UC to increase the resources available for experimentation. During this time networking between nodes may be interrupted and the user interface may not be available for periods of time.

JupyterHub down for Docker security update

We will be performing unplanned maintenance on the JupyterHub server to address CVE-2019-5736. This is a critical security bug with the Docker container runtime. The JupyterHub server will be down for a few minutes while the updates are applied. Your existing Notebook servers should come back automatically once the maintenance is finished.

Update: this took a bit longer than expected, but the JupyterHub server is back up after the maintenance. Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE: The maintenance is complete and services have been restored.

REMINDER: Chameleon systems at TACC will not be available on 8 January, 2019. All instances will be powered off during this maintenance, so please make sure that your work is saved beforehand. 

Chameleon systems at TACC will be unavailable on 8 January, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (CST). Scheduled maintenance will be performed during this time. CHI@TACC, KVM@TACC, and the Chameleon portal will be unavailable during this time.

Network maintenance at UC January 7 8am-12pm CST

Access to Chameleon systems at UC will be unavailable from 8:00 AM CST until 12:00 PM CST on January 7, 2019 to allow for the installation of a new network spine switch which will increase the networking capabilities at UC. This will affect CHI@UC and the Jupyter notebook environment.

Update: Maintenance is complete. Thank you for your patience.

We will be conducting a networking services upgrade for the CHI@TACC site on Monday, November 26 starting at 10:00 AM CST, ending by 4:00 PM CST the same day. During this time the networking services of CHI@TACC will be unavailable, meaning that no new instances can be launched, and no changes to user-defined networking will be possible. Traffic to instances created on Skylake Compute nodes will be affected, but we do not expect any interruption to other instances.

We will be taking the Swift Object Store offline temporarily at CHI@UC on Tuesday, October 30th from 9:30AM until about 2PM CST for network maintenance. We will send out an all clear notice when the work is complete.
