Reported Outages

UPDATE: The maintenance session is now complete. Some instances could not be migrated during this period, and affected users will be contacted regarding migration of their VMs.

A maintenance session on KVM@TACC is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25 2017 from 8 AM to 4 PM Central Time. During this session, a number of virtual machines will be migrated from one host to another. Migrated virtual machines will experience a brief interruption, but are expected to be otherwise unaffected.

All instances on CHI@UC are currently unreachable via SSH. We are working to fix the issue as soon as possible. We will update when connectivity is restored.

UPDATE: This work is complete and CHI@UC is once again available.

Dear Chameleon users,

We have received notice from the building housing the CHI resources at the University of Chicago that they will be performing planned power work on Monday, March 6th 2017.

CHI@UC will be unavailable starting at 07:00 AM CST Monday the 6th and coming back by the end of day. An all clear message will be sent out once the work has been completed.

Update: CHI@UC is once again available following the outage.

A planned maintenance session of CHI@UC is scheduled on Tuesday, November 29th starting at 8 AM Central Time lasting throughout the day to implement new features. All bare-metal resources at UC will be unavailable during this window. KVM@TACC and CHI@TACC will remain available.

A maintenance session of CHI@UC is scheduled on Monday, November 21st starting at 8 AM Central Time to 6 PM Central Time. All bare-metal resources at UC will be unavailable during this window. KVM@TACC and CHI@TACC will remain available.

The Chameleon website was unavailable due to an outage on our hosting infrastructure. Access to the Chameleon website has now been restored.

Update: CHI@UC is once again available following the outage.

We need to take a brief network outage for CHI@UC on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at noon CST to make a configuration change. The outage is only expected to last a few minutes and should not affect running instances other than the network during this window.

A maintenance session of CHI@UC is scheduled from September 8th, 4 AM Central Time to September 9th, 6 PM Central Time. All bare-metal resources at UC have been reserved for this purpose. KVM@TACC and CHI@TACC will remain available.
