Update from 2016-01-27 00:20 UTC: The DNS issue has been resolved. Note that it may take several hours to be available through your local DNS cache server.

Due to an issue with DNS resolution, the Chameleon portal is currently unreachable. We're working on restoring access as soon as possible.

 

TACC Network Maintenance 1/31/16

Update: At 11:45 AM Sunday 1/31/2016, the network maintenace at TACC was completed.

Network access to TACC will be intermittent from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (CT) on Sunday, 31 January 2016. An upgrade will be performed during this time. During the network maintenance, access to TACC resources, and the Chameleon portal will be unavailable. Resources at UC are expected to remain available.

Authentication issues at CHI@UC

Since December 25th, we have been experiencing authentication issues on CHI@UC. You may be unable to log into the dashboard or access your instances. We are working on restoring access promptly.

Chameleon portal and CHI@UC unavailable

An unexpected outage made both our Chameleon portal and the bare metal cloud at UC (CHI@UC) unavailable. They have now been brought back online.

Errors when launching new KVM instances

It has come to our attention that the error that caused problems with launching new instances has also affected those that were already active. In those cases, the instance may report that it's filesystem is read-only. Rebooting instanaces should resolve the issue.

UC Chameleon down for electrical work

UPDATE 2015-11-09: Access to Chameleon@TACC is now restored for both KVM and CHI@TACC (Bare Metal). While we expect that the bare metal instances that were running prior to the shutdown should boot, the abrupt nature of the shutdown could result in a few exceptions. Please submit a help request in the portal if you experience any issues restarting your instances. 

Brief interruption of service on CHI@TACC

We experienced a brief interruption of service on CHI@TACC earlier today, first noticed at 13:57 CST (19:57 UTC).
This was due to a hardware problem which has been corrected around 14:30 (20:30 UTC).
The service should be operational again.

Update 2015-11-03 05:10 UTC: Access to the KVM cloud has been restored today. We also had issues on Bare Metal caused by the outage on Friday, however these should be solved now. Thanks for your patience.
