We are experiencing an outage at UC that began at ~12am CST. It affects the CHI OpenStack cloud and the Jupyter notebook environment. We are working to restore service currently.

Certificate chain expiration

Due to a certificate expiration in the trust chain for the certificates providing SSL for Chameleon, some clients (e.g. Swift) could no longer verify the SSL termination for the endpoint. To correct this, a new chain was generated using https://whatsmychaincert.com and verified at that same site.

The outage is resolved.

TACC Network maintenance 10 May 2020

Update: The TACC network maintenance is now complete

Access to all TACC systems will be unavailable on 10 May 2020 from 10:00 AM CDT until 2:00 PM CDT.  This is to allow for upgrades to the TACC core network hardware. Instances will continue to run, but users will have no access to CHI@TACC, KVM@TACC, and Chameleon portal until the upgrade is complete, including the Chameleon portal.

UPDATE: The networking issues have been resolved, and connectivity should be restored to all instnaces.

The KVM system at TACC is experiencing trouble with network connectvitiy. Staff is working to correct the issue.

We experienced a short outage at UC that began at 10:50am CST. It may have affected using CHI@UC site and Jupyter Notebook.The issue has been resolved.

We experienced a network outage at UC that began at roughly 9:15am CST. It may have effected connectivity for running experiments. The issue has since been resolved.

Update: Scheduled maintenance is complete.

Access to all TACC systems will be unavailable on Sunday, 15 March, 2020 from 9:00 AM CDT until 12:00 PM CDT. This is to allow for upgrades to the TACC core network hardware. During this upgrade, users will have no access to CHI@TACC and KVM@TACC services and instances, or the Chameleon Portal. CHI@UC and Jupyter will remain available.

CHI@UC outage Feb 22-23

We experienced an outage starting at Februar 22, 10AM CT at CHI@UC due to its database going down. We have since recovered the database and restored all site functionality. No data loss occurred. This should not have affected connectivity to running experiments. However, CHI@UC and the Jupyter environment were effectively down.

RESOLVED: Maintenance for KVM@TACC is complete.

The KVM system at TACC is undergoing some emergency maintenance, and will have limited availabilty. We expect the work to be completed later today.
